Ukiah Beginning Strings Class

Inland Northwest Musicians has started a Strings Class in Ukiah.  There was an open house at the school in Ukiah on October 26, 2015 to introduce the various string instruments to those students and parents that had an interest in lessons.  From there began classes held twice a week with lessons for beginners through third year students. The teachers are Sue Friese (Athena) and Barton Jones (Walla Walla).  They meet after school and have a choice to learn either the violin or the cello.

2017-18 season and the Ukiah String program is growing! There continues to be interest and support for our students through the school and community.

A treat for all INWM and String supporters was the opportunity to participate with the INWO on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the concert held there. The students demonstrated their skills and performed a song with the INWM string orchestra.

Wonderful job!

There is hope for a similar class situation for Wallowa Valley and Hermiston areas. If you are interested, please contact the INWM office!

Young People’s Concert

Inland Northwest Musicians offer a musical experience for those that haven’t played an instrument for a long time and those that have been playing an instrument for only a couple of years.  One of the concerts performed in the season is called the Young People’s Concert.  This concert is performed in the Hermiston area by the Willow Creek Symphony and in the Wallowa Valley area by interested musicians from the Wallowa Valley as well as members of the Inland Northwest Orchestra, targeting students in 4th, 5th & 6th grades.

The students in each area come to a central location and are introduced to the various instruments in the orchestra.  There is also an opportunity to ask questions before they listen to a few pieces that the group has prepared.  Sometimes they actually get to do a “Symphony Safari” by walking through the orchestra as they exit.
